Postcard from Wop-pa (2019) is a faithful transcription of an 1898 letter from Walter Roth, the Northern Protector of Aborigines to then Queensland Police Commissioner, William Parry-Okeden, on the back of a 1980s tourist postcard promoting Great Keppel Island. In the letter, Roth complains to Parry-Okeden about having his holiday ruined by witnessing an incident of violence against Aboriginal people. Moore has noted, “Memories of massacres and their sites have been long suppressed with the postcard generating a favourable, fun image toward a destination”.
