Micah Danges
b. 1979, West Virginia, USA
l. Philadelphia, USA
Micah Danges is a photo-media artist whose print-based practice explores the relationship between image and object and the material limits of photography, often working with unconventional supports. Using photocopying, printing and casting techniques, Danges builds dense image fields and object-based works that foreground surface, support and material behaviour.

He has presented solo exhibitions at Vox Populi Gallery, Philadelphia; Fleisher Art Memorial, Philadelphia; Cabrini College, Collegeville, Pennsylvania; Moore College of Art, Philadelphia; and Marginal Utility, Philadelphia. Group exhibitions include New Grit: Art & Philly Now, Philadelphia Museum of Art (2021); Light & Matter: The Photographic Object, Michener Art Museum, Doylestown (2017); ICA-50, Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia (2014); Fiat Lux, The Print Center, Philadelphia (2013); and No Soul for Sale – X Initiative, Tate Modern, London (2010). His work was recently acquired by the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
