Agatha Gothe-Snape, The Most Expensive Thing (Luxury Beach Throw), 2015, linen beach throw, 55% linen, 45% cotton, 177.8 × 132 cm, edition 30 | AUD 500.00 each, TCG020638
modelled by Brooke Stamp and Sarah Rodigari

When conducting my initial research for this project, I took notes as I watched interviews with Lawrence Weiner. This is an excerpt from my jotted notes as Lawrence ruminated on the economy of delegated labour and its relationship to time. After modelling for this photo shoot with the luxury beach throw, my friend, artist Sarah Rodigari, pointed me via sms to these quotes. Jean Francois Lyotard: “money is nothing other than time placed in reserve, available” and Jan Verwoert: “the crisis of time in times of crisis."

This edition was produced to support Agatha Gothe-Snape's project, Rhetorical Chorus (LW), for Performa 15 in New York in November 2015. All proceeds from the sale of this work go towards AGS's Performa work.
