The Broken Egg

The Broken Egg is a monumentally scaled painting (acrylic on unstretched canvas) painted for the group exhibition OBLIVION PAVILION at Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces, Melbourne, in early 2008. The exhibition, curated by Amanda Rowell, included six artists: Marley Dawson, Agatha Gothe-Snape, Matthew Hopkins, Emily Hunt, Raquel Welch (Caballero), Tim Schultz.

Subsequent to the Melbourne exhibition, the exhibition was presented at short notice at Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery, Sydney.

The Broken Egg was painted by Schultz to fit specifically the dimensions of the long wall in the front gallery at Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces.
